PELL CITY -- Tickets are still available for the ninth annual Love Feeds the Soul Tablescapes Fundraising Luncheon, which benefits two local nonprofit organizations.
Sue Turton, the secretary for the Christian Love Pantry, said proceeds from the luncheon are split between the Love Pantry and Lakeside Hospice.
Lakeside Hospice cares for terminally ill people, and the Christian Love Pantry provides nonperishable food items for those in need.
This year’s event is set for 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24, at the First United Methodist Church Beacon Hall, 2200 3rd Ave. N., Pell City.
Turton said tickets are $25 each or $200 for a table, which will seat eight people. Tickets and tables are limited.
“We definitely do not want to leave anyone out, if they want to attend,” said Elizabeth Thomaston with Lakeside Hospice.
Thomaston said organizers have about seven to eight tables, so people interested in reserving a table should call by next week. She said organizers have sold individual tickets up to the week of the event.
Attendees will decorate their individual tables in a friendly competition to see who can earn “best table decoration” honors.
“They can pick any theme they would like,” Turton said.
This year’s event will feature a performance by the Pell City High School show choir.
Turton said the event will also have a silent auction and raffle with items donated by local businesses. She said there will be a “gently used” purse sale, and plenty of deserts donated by local churches will also be available for purchase.
Turton said Louie’s Grill is catering the event.
Organizers said sponsoring a table is a good way to promote a business and a fun way to support local charities.
