Minister Paul Brasher plans trip to Israel

New Hope Baptist Minister Paul Brasher is helping organize a 10-day trip to Israel.

PELL CITY – If you are stumped on finding the perfect gift for that special someone this Christmas, you might want to talk to New Hope Baptist Minister Paul Brasher about “the trip” to Israel.

Brasher, his wife, Laurie, and former Alabama Sen. Hank Erwin, who was a Christian radio broadcaster, are organizing a 10-day trip to Israel.

“Richard Frieden will be our guide,” Brasher said. “He is well-versed in the scriptures – history, prophecy, current world politics and is a born-again believer.”

The trip is set for June 30-July 9, next year.  Those who register will see Caesarea, Galilee, Nazareth, Masada, the Jordan River, The Dead Sea, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Capernaum, En Gedi, the Valley of Megiddo, the Garden of Gethsemane and more.

“This is a great all-around trip,” Brasher said, adding that it is  a great trip for pastors, church workers or really for anyone.

The trip costs $4,499 per person, and people who do not want to stay in a double-occupancy hotel room can have a room to themselves for an additional $779.

Brasher said it’s about the best price for a trip of its kind to Israel.

The price includes roundtrip airfare from Birmingham, eight nights lodging at four-star Israel hotels, breakfast and dinner daily at hotels, full-time professional English-speaking tour guide, all entrances as appeared on the itinerary, baggage handling at hotels (one bag), tips to guides, drivers and hotel staff, and transportation in deluxe air-conditioned motor coaches.

“Each night we will have a special service of worship, the word, reflection and prayer,” Brasher said. “When we sail on the Sea of Galilee, we will have a special service on the boat. We will also experience a very touching Lord’s Supper service in our visit to the Garden Tomb. We will also have a blessed Baptism service for those who want to be baptized in the Jordan River at one of the sites on the river where they think Jesus was baptized.”

He said the trip is both spiritual and inspirational.

“My wife, Laurie, says that the trip to Israel is the gift that keeps on giving,” he said. “Now when we open our Bible, the Lord gives new insight through what we saw and heard there. This would be a great and powerful gift to give to someone for Christmas.”
