PELL CITY -- Eden Westside Baptist Church in Pell City will host Pray ’18 at 6 p.m. Sunday to pray specifically for national, state and community leaders.

Mayors, police and fire chiefs, judges, school superintendents and other city leaders from Pell City, Lincoln, Riverside, Leeds, Moody, Odenville, Ashville, Steele, Ragland, Argo and Margaret have been invited to participate in this special service.

Other area church leaders have been invited to take part as well.

“In a day where mass shootings are a daily occurrence and violence is at an all-time high across America, there has never been a better time for cities and churches to unite with prayer for our country, our state, our county, our individual cities and the municipal leaders that make daily decisions on the welfare of the people,” said Dona Bonnett, the publicity director for Eden Westside Baptist Church.

Bonnett said planning for this event began when Rev. Jacky Connell, senior pastor at Eden Westside, felt a call from God to bring our area leaders together for a time of encouragement and prayer.

Pray ’18 is open to anyone who would like to attend and will be held at the Eden Campus of Eden Westside Baptist Church, 223 Wolf Creek Road North.

The Eden Westside Worship Factory will also open for first- through sixth-graders with a worship service, including games, music and crazy characters.

Bonnett said pre-school activities will also be provided.
