LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.jpg

A recent letter writer to the Daily Home said, “Our responsibility as citizens is to tell the truth.”

Truth is every word that comes from the mouth of God. I agree that every Christian should always tell the truth and follow the truth no matter where it leads them. But, what about a non-Christian? What does their moral guide tell them the truth is?

As a Christian, we should be Christ-like and always tell the truth. However, a citizen’s duty is to follow the laws prescribed in the U.S. Constitution, not what some political party tells us the truth is.

It is my belief that this country’s Founding Fathers were guided by divine intervention when writing this document, in spite of the haters on the left having us believe otherwise.

The U.S. Constitution is based on the Ten Commandments, all of America’s laws are based on this precept. They tell us how to live as a civilized society and country, and warns us of the penalties if we do not. Don’t murder, don’t steal, etc. In effect, follow the Golden Rule: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Do this and you will be the perfect Christian and citizen in spite of what some political party tells you the truth is, including the Democratic Party.
