A group of teenage boys at Odenville Middle School have something very special going for them.

Last spring, this group won the St. Clair County Jr. High Baseball Tournament. This past fall, this same group of talented athletes went undefeated on the gridiron and won the St. Clair County Jr. High Football crown.

Just when you thought it could not get any better for the guys who wear maroon and white, they won another Jr. high county title recently as they defeated Moody in basketball.

Congratulations to these young men. Hats off to you and your coaches.

As you move from the middle school to high school and from Jr. High to the varsity level, we wish you the very best in the sports arena. If you continue to work hard and stay together, the sky is the limit on what you can accomplish.

Some of the same young men are children of those who, over two decades ago, played on the 1993 state championship football team for St. Clair County High School. So we should not be surprised to see the Saints playing for its second state title in just a few short years.

And oh, by the way, the seventh grade OMS boys and the OMS girls won county basketball titles as well, giving Odenville a clean sweep in basketball.

Congratulations, and keep up the good work.
