PELL CITY -- Diversicare announced that Sandra Prescott, of Montgomery, was named the new administrator for its Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Pell City.

PELL CITY – Pell City High School’s baseball team couldn’t capitalize on Oxford stinging itself earlier in the week and dropped both ends of a Class 6A, Area 13 doubleheader Thursday night.

Students are yelling, cursing, hitting and screaming at teachers and nothing is being done but teachers are being told to teach and ignore the behaviors. These students know there is nothing a teacher can do.

ASHVILLE – After two years of fundraising at H&R Block in Ashville, Marianna Welbourne has a new van. Last year, the fundraising effort was named Marianna’s Van Club, and last Saturday, Marianna was presented her new wheelchair-accessible van.

Samantha Kate Cotton is a sixth-grade student at Ragland Elementary. She is the 11-year-old daughter of Ben Cotton. She has always attended Ragland School.

If the church today is ever going to be an effective agent of change in the world around it, people have got to stop playing musical churches and learn how to be faithful.
