So, just how much spirit do you have? How much for Leeds? How much for Moody? How about St. Clair County High?

You get to put your money where your mouth is all next week as Chick-fil-A in Leeds is sponsoring Spirit Week for all three of these high schools. The event will start Monday, Sept. 18, and run through Friday, Sept. 22.

Christy Ellard, marketing director for Chick-fil-A in Leeds, organized the entire week.

“The cheerleaders from each high school came in and painted windows in each of the school colors,” Ellard said. “Spirit Night for SCCHS is Monday, Sept. 18, from 5-8 p.m. Spirit Night for Moody High is Tuesday, Sept 19, from 5-8 p.m., and Spirit Night for Leeds High is Thursday, Sept. 21, from 5-8 p.m.”

Ellard said there will be one table inside Chick-fil-A where patrons who dine inside can drop their receipts in a bucket designated for one of the three schools they would like to support. These buckets will be displayed all day and all week long

“At the end of the week, the receipts will all be added up,” Ellard said. “The school with the most money on the receipts will receive a $1,000 donation from Chick-fil-A. Second place will receive a $500 donation and third place will receive a $250 donation.”

Ellard also said there will be events throughout the week including a nugget-eating contest between the schools’ band members, cheerleaders and football team. There will be special events, prizes and special appearances from the Chick-fil-A cow.

“This is just a way Chick-fil-A can give back to the schools,” Ellard said. “This is just a way of rewarding these students who participate. When I discussed this with our owner/operator Scott Robinson, he said it was just a great way to give back and allow thee schools to use the money however they see fit.”
