Several new businesses are scheduled to open in the area. One of them is Springville Small Engine Service, owned by Stacy Shoop. It opened on Saturday, Jan. 6. They are located at 7885 U.S. 11. The hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. As their name suggests, they specialize in small engine repairs, including but not limited to lawnmowers, carburetors, etc. For more information, see their Facebook page at Springville Small Engine. Be sure to visit them for all your small engine repairs.
The Springville Senior Center reopened on Jan. 2, after a holiday break. There are a lot of fun and interesting things on the calendar for January, such as ceramics, crocheting, bingo, cards, etc. All seniors should check it out. There appears to be a little something for everyone going on at the Senior Center.
Congratulations to Bill Lyle, who was Springville's chief of police and retired Dec. 31. Congratulations to Belinda Crapet, who was previously an investigator with the city and was appointed interim chief of police beginning Jan.1.
