PELL CITY – The regional tournament of the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) was held recently at CEPA, with 16 teams competing in the high school and junior high divisions.

In the high school division, Ashville took first place honors with a total team score of 3,329. Moody finished runner-up with a score of 3,190. Pell City had a score of 3,160 to take third place. Rounding out the other competitors were Munford, Scope Homeschool and Oxford.

The top individual archer in the high school division was Ashville’s Sara Payne with a 291 out of a possible 300. The top boy’s archer and runner-up in the high school division was Jacob Beatty with a 287. Rounding out the top three was Ashville’s Jabe Burgess with a 286.

In the middle school division, Munford finished first with a team score of 3,237. Runner-up honors went to Moody Jr. High with a score of 3,104.

Rounding out the top 7 were Odenville Middle, 3049; Central Middle School, 3,020; Leeds Middle School, 2,883; Hewitt-Trussville Middle School, 2,795; and Duran Jr. High School, 2,751.
