The Sons of the Confederacy celebrated Flag Day Saturday at the Inzer Museum in Ashville. Commander Bill Watkins said it was one of seven Flag Day celebrations held Saturday throughout the state of Alabama. Guest speaker was Commander Jimmy Hill of the Alabama division of the SCV. There was a 21-gun salute, a retirement flag ceremony, music by Ally Knight of Cullman, firing of three different cannons and Taps played by Ragland’s Jaxon Phillips. A new Confederate flag was raised on the flagpole in front of the Inzer Museum.
