During Saturday’s Tunes Around Town in Ashville, a special American Flag retirement ceremony was held. Bikers gathered at Ashville High School with the torn American flags to officially be retired and rode to the St. Clair County Courthouse. At right is St. Clair Camp 308 commander William Watkins retiring a portion of a flag. Below is Harry Moritz with the American Veterans Post 25 saluting after he retired a flag. At the bottom are several veterans as they watch the American flags burn as they are officially retired.

Jalene Peaspanen, organizer of Tunes Around Town, said it was the highlight of the day and was appreciative of the respect each person showed during the special ceremony.
