5 facing drug charges in St. Clair County

Five individuals were arrested on felony drugs charges Wednesday in St. Clair County. Those arrested included (from left) Demario Payne, Corey McIntyre, Taryn Bowlen, Lee Turner and Christian Turner.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY – Five people were arrested Wednesday during a felony drug warrant roundup conducted by the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division and the St. Clair County SWAT team.

Assistant Sheriff Billy Murray said authorities executed the drug arrests in various parts of the county.

Arrested were:

  • Demario Payne, 27, of Margaret. A search warrant was executed, and he was charged with three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the St. Clair County Jail in Ashville and released shortly after his arrest on a $91,000 bond;
  • Corey McIntyre, 27, of Margaret. He was arrested on warrants charging three counts of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was booked into the St. Clair County Jail in Ashville and released shortly after his arrest on a $91,000 bond;
  • Taryn Bowlen, 24, of Pell City. She was arrested on warrants charging one count of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana in the first degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City and released shortly after her arrest on a $5,500 bond;
  • Lee Turner, 40, of Ashville. He was arrested on failure to appear warrants charging trafficking spice and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and an additional charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He remains in the St Clair County Jail in Ashville with a court date of March 22; and
  • Christian Turner, 26, of Springville. He was arrested on one count of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and one count of manufacturing/distribution of imitation drugs. He was booked into the St. Clair County Jail in Ashville and released shortly after his arrest on a $36,000 bond.

Murray said those who bonded out are scheduled to make their initial court appearance in April.
