ST. CLAIR COUNTY -- The Alabama Department of Transportation will close the southbound right lane and northbound left lane of Interstate 59 from the Ashville exit (milepost 166) to north of the St. Clair Springs exit (milepost 156) starting Monday, according to a pair of press releases.
The northbound lane will be closed beginning Monday, Feb. 5, at 7 a.m., weather permitting, for paving operations. This same lane closure will be in place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, thru Saturday, Feb. 10.
The southbound lane will be closed beginning Monday, Feb. 5, at 8 a.m., weather permitting, for clearing operations (removal of trees and debris). This same lane closure will be in place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6, thru Saturday, Feb. 10.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in these areas. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during these operations to improve Alabama’s roadways.
