ST. CLAIR COUNTY -- Beginning at 8 a.m., Wednesday, June 13, weather permitting, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the left lane of Interstate 59 Southbound for paving operations from the Etowah County line (milepost 175) to the Ashville exit (milepost 166), according to a press release.

All travel lanes are expected to re-open around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

This same lane closure will be in place from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Thursday, June 14, thru Saturday, June 16.

Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this construction operation to improve Alabama’s roadways, the release says.
