TALLADEGA -- A Talladega woman pedestrian was killed Sunday when she was struck by a car on Alabama Highway 21.

Carolyn Ragland, 50, of Talladega was standing or walking in the northbound lanes of Highway 21, three miles north of Talladega, when she was hit by a silver or gray four-door midsize car, according to a state trooper press release.

Ragland was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, which has windshield damage, left the scene.
