The 29th annual Talladega County Outdoor Youth Event was held Saturday at the Shepard Branch Shooting Facility south of Waldo. It included door prizes for the kids along with hunter and gun safety lessons and all kids getting to shoot .22s, shotguns, archery and BB guns. Alabama Department of Conservation officers helped the kids at the ranges learn how to shoot safely. In the photos, Department of Conservation officer Greg Gilliland helps Rhaeley Jobson shoot a bow and arrow, and Charlie Stephens gets help from her dad, Kevin, shooting a BB gun.
