TALLADEGA -- Talladega police are investigating three homicides reported in the city in less than two months.

Chief Jason Busby confirmed Thursday that Robert Hall, 35, of Sylacauga, was killed New Year’s Eve at the College City Elks Lodge on Long Street. No arrests had been made as of Thursday afternoon, and the case remains under investigation.

Busby said that information on the case was initially withheld to allow investigators to locate witnesses that they might not have been able to find if the homicide had been made public sooner.

According to Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy, Hall was shot once in the back of the head outside the club between 1:45 and 2 a.m. Dec. 31. He was airlifted to University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital but was pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m.

Little information about the victim or the circumstances leading up to his death was readily available Thursday afternoon.

The other two homicide investigations involve the death of an 18-month-old boy by blunt force trauma to the head and the shooting death of Justin Twymon, 19, on Knox Street on Sunday night.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents should contact the Talladega Police Department at 256-362-43508 or call the city’s anonymous tip line at 256-299-0011.
