TALLADEGA -- Talladega police are continuing their investigation into a Friday morning home invasion on Shocco Springs Road. According to Capt. John McCoy, no suspects had been identified in the case as of Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Patrick Thornton said Monday that two males had broken into the home of a couple in their 70s around 2 a.m. while wearing zombie masks. The men, one armed with a pistol, demanded gold and the woman’s purse. They eventually stole a .38 pistol; the man’s wallet containing cash, identification and credit cards; and several pieces of jewelry.

McCoy said Tuesday the wallet had been recovered at Talladega Downs Apartments. All the cash was gone, but the credit cards and driver’s license were still there.

Anyone with information on this incident should contact the Talladega Police Department at 256-362-4508.
