TALLADEGA COUNTY -- The Talladega County Board of Education has completed its evaluation of Superintendent Dr. Suzanne Lacey, and as she has since 2011, Lacey was awarded the equivalent of “straight A’s” for the year.

According to board attorney Greg Morgan, Lacey’s scores improved in five subcategories over the last year; “those were the categories where she didn’t already have 100 percent, and she could improve,” he explained.

The evaluation forms themselves, which were presented at Monday’s regular board meeting, are confidential, but Morgan did provide glowing quotes from two of the board members that bear out the numbers.

“Dr. Lacey and her leadership team make certain our teachers are equipped with what they need to provide our students with rich learning opportunities,” one of them read. “She always represents our district well. She is a respected leader at the state, local and national level.”

Another noted that, “Due to Dr. Lacey’s outstanding leadership, Talladega County Schools excel not only at the state level but the national level as well.”

Morgan explained the evaluations were confidential so he could not say which board members submitted the quotes he provided.
