LINCOLN -- Students from Talladega County Schools participated Thursday morning in the Special Olympics at Lincoln High School.

The event began with torchbearer Mya Nelson, of Childersburg, bringing in the ceremonial flame. The parade of athletes followed, with all the participating students processing on the track behind a banner from their school, and then the games began.

Those who qualified will participate in the State Summer Games scheduled for May 2020 at Troy University.
