TALLADEGA -- Talladega College presented its annual Christmas Concert on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 5 p.m. in DeForest Chapel.

Highlights included selections of holiday favorites by the acclaimed Talladega College choir. Featured vocalists were Deleeicia Taylor, Brianne Bailey, Tray Kirksey, Marcell Pope, Gregory Hill and CorDerek Nunn. Accompanists included pianist DeVonte’ Williams and Dr. Mi Kyung Hwang, who performed a medley of holiday favorites.

There were Christmas readings by Talladega College President Dr. Billy C. Hawkins; Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Lisa Long; Miss Talladega College Licole Bursey; Mr. Talladega College Phillip Thompson; Talladega alumnus Montaurious Abner; Spanish instructor Geneva Lanier; Dean of the College of Humanities and Fine Arts Dr. Ernestene Sherow and assistant professor of voice Dr. Pamela Bell-Burns.

The Talladega College choir, directed by William Mitchell, recently released its premier CD, “Bringin’ It Live.” The choir has performed with Grammy Award-winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams at “UNCF: An Evening of Stars;” at the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.; and at churches, schools and other venues throughout the nation.
