TALLADEGA COUNTY -- Talladega County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating two residential burglaries and thefts on Lake Ridge Lane outside Talladega, according to incident and offense reports.

The first incident was reported Jan. 5 but occurred sometime after Nov. 23, according to the report.

Someone appears to have broken into the house and stolen a black shotgun and a two pellet guns as well as a Sanyo television. From a boat in the yard of the house, they also stole a green Interstate boat battery valued at $100 and a black battery valued at $60, according to Sgt. Mike Jones.

The second incident was reported on the same block sometime between New Year’s Eve and Jan. 5.

This time, a storage building was broken into, and the items reported stolen include a heater valued at $100, 10 rods and reels valued at $1,000, miscellaneous fishing lures valued at $500 and a tackle box containing more fishing lures valued at $300.

Jones said a total of five boat batteries, valued at $100 each, were reported stolen from this location.

As of Thursday afternoon, there were no known witnesses or suspects in the case.
