STORY TIME: Sylacauga native DeCorey Hale reads his book, ‘Ebenezer the Sneezer,’ to children in Knoxville Homes community

Author and Sylacauga native DeCorey Hale reads his book “Ebenezer the Sneezer” to children in the Knoxville Homes community in Talladega on Thursday. Hale introduced his book by saying he started writing bedtime stories for his daughter, Nylah, a voracious reader. He took the first of these stories, had it illustrated by friend Lauren Lacy, then self-published the first 2,000 copies. The community event sought to encourage children to read and explore new worlds, go after their dreams and never give up.
