Bride Jeneen Cherie Stewart is escorted by her father, William Stewart, down some stairs on her wedding day. She married Torrance C. Beck, formerly of Talladega.


Jeneen Cherie Stewart, formerly of Philadelphia, and Torrance C. Beck, formerly of Talladega, were wed in a lovely afternoon affair at Musket Ridge Golf Course in Myersville, Maryland, on Aug. 4.

Jeneen is the daughter of Elizabeth Stewart, of Philadelphia, and William Stewart, also of Philadelphia.

Torrance is the son of Maxine Beck, of Talladega, and the late Albert C. Beck, Jr.

The bride earned bachelor's and master's degrees from Howard University, where she pledged Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

The groom is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University with a degree in business and is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

Jeneen is employed with Frederick County Public Schools of Frederick, Maryland, as principal of Ballenger Middle School.

Torrance will officially retire as a major in the United States Army with 25 years of service in November 2018.

He is employed as program manager for the United States Army.

The couple chose Cancun for their honeymoon and reside in Frederick, Maryland, with their children, Cherie, Lauren, Olivia, Taylor and Timmy.
