SYLACAUGA -- Young and old alike were bundled up Wednesday night, lining the streets of downtown Sylacauga for the city’s 39th Christmas parade.

The theme for the parade was “Merry Christmas Sylacauga.” Local high school bands, beauty queens, city officials, emergency responders, floats and festively dressed riders and horses wound down North Broadway Avenue onto North Norton Avenue.

The grand marshal for the parade was longtime pediatrician Dr. Robert Gray. As Christmas music could be heard, crowd favorites like Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, the Minions and, of course, Santa Claus delighted parade goers.

The Christmas parade was sponsored by the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce. It was postponed from Saturday due to winter weather.
