Simply perfection

Noah Hathorn pitched a perfect game in Pell City High School’s 7-0 victory over Pinson Valley on Tuesday night.

Hathorn struck out 13. Of his 88 pitches, 60 were strikes.

Pell City first baseman Drew Wilson went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Left fielder Wesley Bates also finished 2-for-3 with an RBI and run.

Third baseman Gaitlin Roberson only had one hit in his three at-bats, but he made it count with two RBIs. He also scored a run, as did Hathorn, shortstop Collier Slovensky and center fielder Kolten Fincher.

Pell City will play at Gadsden City on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.



At Lineville, the Lady Golden Bears outscored the Lady Volunteers 11-0 through the first four frames Tuesday night.

Sophomore Morgan Allison delivered a strong performance for Lincoln. She went 4-for-5 with three runs and two RBIs.

Justice Green, a sophomore for the Lady Golden Bears, had a 3-for-5 day and scored a pair of runs. Kinsey Smith added a run and a pair of RBIs with her 2-for-4 outing.

Victoria Mitchell and Amity Cooper each crossed home plate twice for Lincoln, while Haylee-Grace Mullinax and Malerie Goolsby contributed a run apiece.

Rayanna Powell pitched four innings for Lincoln. She allowed five hits and struck out four.

Callie Smith closed out the contest. She allowed six hits and four runs with a walk and a strikeout.

The Lady Golden Bears will host Cleburne County on Thursday at 5 p.m.
