Talladega threw a parade Monday in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Birthday holiday, winding up Battle Street to the B.N. Mabra Center. The parade included police cars, fire engines, half a dozen antique and vintage cars, several four-wheelers and motorcycles, a vehicle representing the College City Elks Lodge, and vans or buses from Peace Baptist Church, Kingston Missionary Baptist Church and Mount Home Baptist Church of Sycamore, among others. Rev. Hugh Morris, president of the Talladega Chapter of the NAACP, was this year’s grand marshal.
