Photo gallery: Brayden Wilson correctly spelled necromancer to win the Talladega County Spelling Bee held at B.B. Comer Memorial Library in Sylacauga Friday morning. Wilson edged out Alexa Edwards form Pinecrest Elementary in the eighth round of the spelling bee.
Sylacauga City Schools hosted this year’s spelling bee which was directed by Dr. Jennifer Rosato. Dr. Claire Keel continued her long run as the spelling bee pronouncer and Debbie Barnett, Stephan Franks and Emily Harris served as judges.
Wilson will represent Talladega County in the Alabama Spelling Bee to be held March 21. The Alabama Spelling Bee winner wins an all-expenses-paid trip for two to compete in the Scripps National Spelling Bee on June 1-3 in National Harbor, Md.
