LINCOLN -- An out-of-state pedestrian was hit by a driver in Lincoln on Monday evening near the Waffle House at the intersection of Highway 77 and Magnolia Street in Lincoln.
Henry Franklin Turney, 78, of Monterey, Indiana was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Talladega County Coroner Shaddix Murphy.
Turney suffered multiple injuries, he said.
The accident happened at 6:14 p.m. in an unlit portion of roadway in the southbound lane of Alabama Highway 77 near Waffle House, Lincoln Police Investigator Matt Hill said.
Turney, he said, was crossing the intersection, when a Chevy Camaro, driven by a female Lincoln resident, struck him.
No signs of foul play were believed to be involved, Hill said.
Lincoln Police, Lincoln Fire and the Talladega County Coroner's Office all responded to the scene.
No further information was available Tuesday afternoon.
