MUNFORD -- A Munford man is being held on a $10,000 bond after being arrested on charges of domestic violence assault in the second degree and domestic violence assault by strangulation, according to Sgt. Mike Jones of the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office.

Kobe Lee Kayden, 19, is charged with attacking his ex-girlfriend with a chair and then attempting to choke her, Jones said.

In addition to the injuries on her neck consistent with strangulation, Jones said the victim also suffered significant facial injuries as a result of the alleged attack, which occurred on Cobb Road in Munford.

Kayden was arrested Wednesday and had bond set by District Judge Jeb Fannin on Thursday morning. Kayden remained in the Talladega County Metro Jail on Thursday afternoon, according to jail records.

Domestic violence assault in the second degree and domestic violence assault by strangulation are both class B felonies in Alabama, punishable upon conviction by two to 20 years in prison.
