Riverside Fire Department responds to fire at Longview Institute

The Riverside Fire Department responded to a fire at Longview Institute on Saturday. 

RIVERSIDE – Longview Institute church on U.S. 78 was damaged by fire Saturday.

Riverside fire Chief Tim Kurzejeski said firefighters responded to the church, 11012 U.S. 78, at 10:15 a.m. He said the fire did extensive heat damage throughout the building.

Kurzejeski said the building was unoccupied at the time of the fire, and nobody was hurt in the blaze.

The Pell City Fire Department and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the fire call.

Kurzejeski said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.  

He said at around 3 p.m. that the Alabama State Fire Marshal was at the scene trying to determine the exact cause fire.
