ST. CLAIR COUNTY -- A Lincoln man is facing drug possession charges after routine traffic stop Sunday by a St. Clair County deputy.
St. Clair County Assistant Sheriff Billy Murray identified the suspect as Jeffrey H. Williams, 47.
Williams was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over by a deputy on Old Coal City Road and Pleasant Valley Quick Stop, according to Murray.
It was discovered that Williams had active St. Clair County warrants, including failure to appear in court and escape.
Williams was arrested and, upon searching the suspect, the deputy found methamphetamine, marijuana and Suboxone.
Williams was being held Monday in the St. Clair County Jail in Pell City on charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of marijuana. Bond was set at $3,000.
Murray said Williams will go before a judge for the failure to appear and escape warrants. His court date is set for April 17.
