SYLACAUGA -- The Police Department is partnering with the Coosa Valley Ministerial Association to provide presents to children in Talladega County Department of Human Resources foster care this Christmas.
Officials with the Ministerial Association and SPD hope to bring some joy to these children, who have been displaced and lost so much through no fault of their own.
According to a flier for the fundraiser, a Talladega County DHR resource supervisor said, “Funds are critically low this year, and there is a very real possibility that our children will not be able to experience the basic joy of opening gifts on Christmas morning.”
Each year, organizations such as the Police Department and Ministerial Association help ease the financial burden of the of those in DHR foster care.
Monetary donations will be accepted now through Dec. 13. Donations may be made through the Ministerial Association and are tax deductible.
