SYLACAUGA – The Police Department is a little short of its goal to provide Christmas presents to children in foster care in Talladega County.
The department is partnering with the Coosa Valley Ministerial Association for this fundraising effort.
The deadline to give at the Police Department is Monday to ensure funds are transferred to the Ministerial Association.
“We want to say a big thank you to all of you who have stepped up and given donations to provide presents for these children,” police Chief Kelley Johnson said. “We are still a little short of our goal, but your donations have made a huge impact on this project.”
If you don’t have time to run by the post office, the Police Department will accept donations at the department’s records office downstairs in the Municipal Complex on North Broadway Avenue in downtown Sylacauga.
Individuals, families, churches, organizations and others who are interested in giving and need more information can call the Police Department Records Office at 256-401-2448.
Each year, organizations such as the Police Department and Ministerial Association help ease the financial burden of those in Talladega County Department of Human Resources foster care.
Donations are tax deductible.
