ST. CLAIR COUNTY -- The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has announced lane closures starting Monday, weather permitting, on Interstate 59 in St. Clair County.
The closures will be between the St. Clair Springs exit (milepost 156) and the Etowah County line (milepost 175). The closures were announced in a pair of press releases Friday.
The closure of either the right or left lane of I-59 Northbound at various locations will be for paving, clearing, grading and guardrail operations from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Saturday, Oct. 27.
The closure of the right or left lane of I-59 Southbound at various locations for the same reasons listed above will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., also daily through Saturday, Oct. 27.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs and use extreme caution in this area, the releases say. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during these construction operations to improve Alabama’s roadways.
ALDOT’s mission, the releases say, is to provide a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation network across Alabama. For further information, visitwww.dot.state.al.us.
