No one was injured when a train derailed in the Eden area early Thursday morning.
The St. Clair County Emergency Management Agency said the train derailed at 3:30 a.m. at the Wolf Creek Road South railroad crossing in Pell City.
“The cars that derailed were car haulers,” St. Clair EMA Director Patrice Kurzejeski said. “This is a Union Pacific train that derailed on Norfolk Southern’s tracks. There is no threat to the surrounding community. The Wolf Creek Road railroad crossing is closed.”
