The holiday spirit was alive and well in Talladega on Monday night for the 2018 Christmas parade. The procession made its way down Battle Street to the courthouse square where hundreds of revelors were waiting and waving. Entrants to this year’s parade showed their stuff before a panel of judges set up at the entrance to the Ritz Theatre. Bands from Talladega College, Talladega County Central, Talladega High and others performed for the crowd. Big rig trucks pulled trailers of costumed characters waving and tossing candy to the children lined up along the route. The parade is a teaser for Talladega’s Christmas on the Square, which will start Friday night with a tree lighting and continue through the weekend.
