Dustin Siegler, though only his 20s, is a throwback to an earlier time. He earns a living being a skilled craftsman. His greatest tools are his calloused hands. He works with animals, big animals. Dustin is a farrier, a dying trade that keeps him busy as many days as he wants to work. A farrier shoes horses, and Dustin is part horse whisperer, part blacksmith. Dustin said many farriers give up because it is hard, physical work. He loves the animals and enjoys working with the owners. He works with all types of horses and varieties of horse shoes, but show horse are his bread and butter. With horses needing to be shod every 5-6 weeks, Dustin stays on the move.
