SYLACAUGA -- Kyle Pope, a graduate assistant who helps coach the defensive line for the national champion Alabama Crimson Tide football team, was the guest speaker recently for Sylacauga High School's Black History Month program.

Pope, a 2010 Sylacauga graduate, played college football at Jacksonville State and is a former assistant coach at Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C.

The Sylacauga High concert band, SHS Marbled Men Ensemble, SHS Musical Theatre Company and Sylacauga Signature also participated. Senior Kadarious Davis recited the “I Have a Dream” speech.
