TALLADEGA -- The Talladega Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual Halloween flashlight candy hunt in Veterans Park on Saturday, Oct. 27, according to a flier handed out at the last City Council meeting.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a screening of “Hotel Transylvania 2” in the park beginning at 6 p.m. Drinks and popcorn will be available for $1.
After the movie, children between the ages of 2 and 12 will be asked to turn on their flashlights and start finding candy hidden throughout the park.
Costumes are allowed, but no clowns please.
For more information, please contact Lucas Thomas at 256-362-0514.
Trick or treating this year will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, rather than Oct. 31. There will be trick or treating around the Square starting at 5:30 p.m., and parents are encouraged to take their children out Tuesday night as well.
Talladega City Manager Beth Cheeks said she believed other surrounding cities would also be observing trick or treating the same night.
