Talladega County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating what appears to be a family argument outside Childersburg Saturday afternoon that ended with a shooting.
The victim in this case is described in the incident and offense report as a 25-year-old male who was eventually transported to Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, where he was treated and released for a gunshot wound to the arm, according to Sgt. Mike Jones.
Investigators know who pulled the trigger, he added. The older, female relative of the victim has been cooperating with the investigation and had not been charged as of Monday afternoon.
The weapon, a Ruger .380 semi-automatic pistol, was turned over to the sheriff’s office after the incident, along with two magazines and around a dozen live rounds, according to the incident and offense report.
