SYLACAUGA — A Care House Benefit Concert is set for Thursday, Dec. 6, at First Presbyterian Church.
The concert follows the Marble City Christmas Parade. Refreshments will be served at 7 p.m. at Perryman Hall followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary.
“Carols with the Cameratas” featuring Tracy and Bruce Carr, Catie and David Simpkins, and Steve Lewis accompanied by Robin Lewis will be wonderful holiday music to those attending.
Admission is three canned food items or a $5 donation.
This nonprofit organization was founded in 1986. It operates 9 a.m. until noon Monday through Thursday with a small staff, community volunteers and volunteers from some 20 sponsoring churches.
Located on Broadway Avenue, Care House accepts monetary donations, as well as food, clothing and household items. The most in-demand food items include peanut butter, jelly, cornbread mix, macaroni and cheese, any canned vegetables, meats and fresh bread. Clean clothing in good condition is also accepted.
The Care House operates with a mission to fill a need in the community, and the public’s assistance helps the organization accomplish this goal.
