TALLADEGA COUNTY -- The Citizens Against Lincoln Expansion (CALE) vs. the city of Lincoln summary judgment hearing is scheduled for Monday, March 20, at 8:30 a.m.

Parties for CALE and the city filed for a summary judgment Monday, Feb. 6, according to court documents. The hearing will take place inside Judge Julian King’s courtroom at the Talladega County Judicial Building at 148 East St. N. in Talladega.

The continuous dispute between CALE and Lincoln stems from the city’s decision to exercise its option to expand its police jurisdiction from a 1.5-mile radius to a 3-mile radius once its population grew to more than 6,000 residents.

CALE members have argued that the decision was made without any of its residents receiving prior notice and that they are being unfairly taxed without any representation.
