Talladega County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. recently presented its annual scholarship reception, one of the sorority’s most honored traditions.

The reception was held at Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce with Ariel Nicole Wynn, of Talladega, an alumna of Talladega College, as guest speaker. Because of efforts of the sorority and surrounding communities, 17 scholarships in the amount of $1,000 were awarded to students who maintained academic excellence in high school.

The scholarship recipients are: Grace Leigh-Ann Abernathy (Sylacauga High), Tranazia Barclay (Talladega High), Moesha Desirea Emma Brown (Childersburg High), Tyceonia Cochran (Munford High), La’Terrika L. Datcher (Childersburg High), Cecily Beyonce Duncan (Talladega High), Trinity Johna Elston (Lincoln High), Glendon Lee Epperson (B.B Comer High), Hillary Charmayne Fuller (Winterboro High), Jordan Fluker (Pell City High), Judson DeWayne Harmon (Talladega County Central High), Imari Alexandria Jones (B.B Comer High), Rachel Irene Kidd (Sylacauga High), Amber Lianna Lakey (Munford High), Shaun Frederick Vincent (Winterboro High), Janiya Wallace (Talladega County Central High), and Kristen Jonye’ Woods (Lincoln High).
