Several senior football players from Talladega County saw their dreams become reality Wednesday afternoon.
Seven student-athletes from the county signed letters-of-intent on National Signing Day.
Munford’s Marshall Clark signed with Jacksonville State University. Clark is expected to play nickelback for the Gamecocks.
Clark had a huge senior season for Munford. The inside linebacker recorded 153 tackles, 17 tackles for a loss, five sacks and an interception. Clark was an Alabama Sports Writers Association first-team all-state selection.
Childersburg had two players sign.
T.K. Kenebrew signed to play at the University of North Alabama in Florence. The 6-foot-2 wide receiver recorded 68 catches for 987 yards and 18 touchdowns last season.
Jelan Kidd signed with Faulkner University in Montgomery. Kidd accounted for 1,846 yards of total offense and 21 touchdowns last season. Kidd signed as a receiver.
Talladega County Central’s Kylen Cross signed with Point University in West Point, Georgia. The 5-11, 226-pound back had a huge senior season for the Fighting Tigers. Cross rushed for 1,950 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also had 285 yards receiving and three scores. Cross was selected second-team all-state at running back in Class 1A.
Lincoln had three players sign, including Earl Wells and Montrell Johnson, who signed with Union College in Kentucky. Teammate Quinn Carter will sign an offer to be a preferred walk on at Jacksonville State University.
Lincoln will have a signing ceremony for its three players Feb. 13 in the school’s gymnasium.
