TALLADEGA -- Perennial Talladega contender Brad Keselowski got eliminated Sunday during a late wreck on lap 166.
The No. 24 car (William Byron) trailed closely behind the No. 48 (Jimmie Johnson). Between Turn 3 and 4, air from Byron's car pushed Johnson's car.
Then the No. 21 car (Menard) got caught up in it, and the wreck was on.
Fourteen cars got caught up in it, including Keselowski, who has won at Talladega five times. It was one of two significant wrecks during Sunday's GEICO 500.
"I just saw the 48 spinning," Keselowski said. "I don't know what happened to cause that."
He called it "typical Talladega."
Keselowski wound up 33rd in the final results.
