JACKSONVILLE -- After hammering Mississippi Valley State 71-0 on Saturday, Jacksonville State moved up a spot in both major FCS polls.

The Gamecocks (1-1) are now No. 12 in the FCS STATS poll, while the FCS coaches pushed JSU to No. 11.

The Gamecocks' 71 points Saturday is the second-most in school history.

They are the lone Ohio Valley Conference team in the STATS poll, while Austin Peay is 23rd in the Coaches Poll.

JSU does not play again until Sept. 22 when Tennessee Tech visits to start the OVC schedule.
