Sacred Heart won at Jacksonville on Thursday night 28-26, 17-25, 15-9.

Sacred Heart’s top performers:

—Ayanna Foster: 13 kills, three blocks, three digs

—Deborah Greene: four blocks, two kills, two digs, one ace

—Sophia Allen: 19 assists, five kills, four aces, four digs

Jacksonville Christian 2, Georgia School for the Deaf 0; Jacksonville Christian 2, Gaylesville 0: JCA opened it season Thursday night with a pair of wins.

The Thunder beat Georgia School for the Deaf 25-14, 25-9 and Gaylesville 25-15, 25-17.

JCA’s top performers against GSD:

—Kylie Cupp, seven aces, three kills

—Elizabeth Goss, seven kills, three aces

—Karli Barnwell, three aces, seven assists

—Maci Barnwell, seven kills

—Goss, five kills

Weaver 3, Piedmont 1; Piedmont 2, Anniston 0: At Weaver, Piedmont dropped its first Class 3A, Area 11 match of the season, falling to the Bearcats 24-26, 25-21, 25-17, 25-23. Piedmont did manage to defeat Anniston, however, 25-13, 25-19.

Piedmont (6-4, 0-1) will play in the White Plains tournament Saturday.

—Sydney Prater, 13 kills, four blocks

—Mackenzie Tolbert, 29 assists

Piedmont’s top performers against Anniston:

—Rebecca Smart, eight aces

—Tolbert, six aces

Saks 2, Gadsden City 0; Saks 2, Ohatchee 0: Saks swept a pair of matches of its home floor, defeating Gadsden City 25-17, 26-24 and Ohatchee 25-19, 25-21

The Wildcats (5-6) host Randolph County on Tuesday.
