JACKSONVILLE — Jacksonville won two of its three matches in the Golden Eagles’ annual CaroStrong quad-match Saturday, an opportunity for those attending to donate to the Leukemia Society in memory of former Jacksonville player Caroline Neisler.

The Golden Eagles defeated Weaver 25-16, 25-16, 25-14 and downed Oneonta 26-16, 25-17, 25-15. Alexandria bested Jacksonville 25-13, 25-19, 25-16.

Top performers for Jacksonville on the day were as follows:

• Elizabeth Stone: 36 kills, 22 digs, six blocks and three aces.

• Brooke Murphy: 59 assists, 11 aces and five kills.

• Michelle Wyckoff: 14 kills and seven aces.

• Aniya Jefferson: nine kills, six blocks and six aces.

• Brenna Stone: seven kills, four blocks.

• Kayla Broom: seven blocks, two kills.

• Rachel Underhill: six digs.

 

Alexandria wins three: Playing at the CaroStrong quad-match at Jacksonville, Alexandria beat Oneonta 25-9,25-11,25-14, Jacksonville 25-13,25-19,25-15 and Weaver 25-17,25-15,25-10.  

Top performers for Alexandria were as follows:

• Taylor Spradley: 32 kills, three blocks.

• Aubrey Pope: 24 kills, 24 digs, 10 aces.

• Kinsley Gregoria: 35 digs.

• Kendal Bumpus: 14 kills.

• Mattie Wade: seven kills, 16 digs.

• Kaitlin Harvey: 12 digs.

• Gracie Muncher: 43 assists.

Pleasant Valley on top: Pleasant Valley won the Saks Invitational on Saturday, beating Saks 25-12 and 25-11 in the championship. The Raiders also beat Ohatchee 25-6, 25-11, Sacred Heart 25-11, 25-10, Ranburne 25-8, 25-12 and Etowah 25-17, 25-13 in pool play.

Top performers for Pleasant Valley on the day were as follows:

• Mikayla Kendrick: 33 kills, 10 aces, two blocks and a dig.

• Anna Bryant: 20 kills, 43 assists, 10 aces, 19 digs and four blocks.

• Alisa St. John: 17 kills, 10 aces, nine digs and three blocks.

• Savannah Williams: 10 kills, 42 assists, 17 digs and four blocks.

• Blakely Malsy: nine kills, 12 digs, two aces, nine blocks.

 

Sacred Heart goes 3-1: Sacred Heart won three of four matches in the Saks Invitational, beating Etowah 25-17, 25-13, Ranburne 25-11, 25-16 and Ohatchee 25-18, 25-20 and losing to Pleasant Valley 11-25, 10-25.

The Cardinals improved to 4-2 on the season headed into a tri-match with Pleasant Valley and Faith Christian at Pleasant Valley on Sept. 5. Their top performers for the day were as follows:

• Jumoke Sanusi: 10 kills, 13 digs, eight aces.

• Ayanna Foster: 14 kills, five blocks.

• Angel Nguyen: 18 digs, three blocks, five kills, five aces.

• Jacque Beyerle: 19 digs, nine aces, five kills.

• Sophia Allen: 16 assists, three kills, nine digs, two aces.

• Jayla Woods: 15 assists, three kills, three aces, five digs.
