REELTOWN — Ranburne’s rally fell short in a 34-28 loss at Reeltown on Friday night.

The Bulldogs scored a touchdown on Jake Burson’s 24-yard catch from Jake Ralston, and Brock Young’s extra point cut Reeltown’s lead to 34-28. Ranburne got the ball back the final play ended with an incomplete pass.

Ralston completed 11 of 14 passes for 102 yards and the one touchdown. He rushed 10 times for 72 yards and two touchdowns of 4 and 5 yards.

Aaron Bennefield ran 15 times for 56 yards, and he scored once on a 4-yard run. Burson caught three passes for 29 yards, and Young made all four of his extra points.

Landon Woodard led Ranburne with four tackles, while Ralston, Shaun Pollard and Sam Calvert each had three. Jacob Cofield forced a fumble.

Ranburne (3-3, 2-2 Class 2A, Region 5) dropped to fourth place in the region, while Reeltown (3-3, 3-1) is in third.
